Why is this so cheap?

I was scrolling through Instagram today and saw a perfect caption from one of my favorite companies, The Root Collective. It read:

"The next time you shop, instead of asking 'why is this so expensive? Ask yourself 'why is this so cheap?" -Carol Chan

Fashion Revolution week is April 24-30, 2017. The mission is:

We believe transparency is the first
step to transform the industry.
And it starts with one simple question:
Who made my clothes?

From their website:

Fashion Revolution Week is our #whomademyclothes campaign in April, which happens at the time of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, where 1,138 people were killed and many more injured on 24th April 2013. We use this week to encourage millions of people to ask brands ‘Who made my clothes’ and demand greater transparency in the fashion supply chain.
Finding ethical fashion is somewhat inconvenient at times, it also costs more money...or does it? What I have found, is when I shop ethically, I buy less. My desire for consumption goes down considerably when I am focusing on the impact my choices have. We should all demand to know #whomademyclothes
